Last year 2011 has been a time of developing the gaming & multi platform components, and of reviewing how the Eye under the Sea project can be brought to a the audience more directly.

What audience do we want to reach?

How can we make the budget lower and get more out of the whole project ideas?

It has been over 3 years Rapture Productions has developed the series ideas with the help of a great and diverse team who tirelessly have given their time. I like to say thanks to each and every person individually (we will create a page with a special thanks to each) and to our investors like National Geographic Television International and Screen Australia and Screen NSW. Thanks for your support and for your patience!

The coming year 2012 is a time of bringing the Eye under the Sea out there to the audiences! There are several  major changes in the project

1. The series are presented by 2 teenagers EYE UNDER THE SEA is an ongoing documentary series, presented by 2 Australian teenagers in search of finding solutions for the ocean. The 2 young people love watching underwater films and decide to take a look for themselves. But what they find is not at all like in the movies and they want to understand why. They embark on adventures with Australia’s and the world’s most legendary underwater photographers, filmmakers and marine scientists, who offer their first hand knowledge, experience and images that support it. They swim with sharks, test the old hard-hat equipment and try making underwater photographs and films the old way. The two are faced with what is really going on in the ocean. We travel with them on the tide of fear and enchantment, flashing back through portholes of time. Capturing a world of iconic movies, surprising inventions and startling discoveries that unveil the active role of underwater images in changing the world. Despite the challenges, the teenagers persist in creating new avenues to help the marine world. It is the young generation that holds a new way of thinking and we bridge their ideas, with the knowledge of the experienced legends – envisioning surprising new outcomes.

1. Eye under the Sea is a 13 part series x 23 minutes – each episode an adventure in itself. A bit like Lonely Planet. With Web-isodes leading up to the adventures and following up on the next phase of the adventures.
2. Our audience is primarily from the age of 14 to 35. This connects the documentary series audience with the gaming and multi platform components of Eye under the Sea, that is also targeting the younger audiences.
3. We are developing our website to show clips from the last 3 years and provide an interactive platform directly related to our Twitter and Facebook accounts that have a large following and extensive post views.
4. We are posting video clips with an introduction to our team members.
5. We are involving teenagers and young students in the making of the gaming and the production of the documentary series.
6. It is essential we can count on your help to take Eye under the Sea to the next level in the following several months! I have personally given over 3 years of my life already and need your help to take the message to the audiences.
7. We are asking you to be actively involved in supporting the project with your network and with financial support when you can.
8. Your investment is tax deductable through the Documentary Australia Foundation for which Eye under the Sea has been approved.
