Recently Mariani has filmed underwater in Thailand – Coral Detectives – where scientists sample an almost 3 meters long coral, aiming to predict tsunami’s and climate change tendencies. Analyses of the ‘year-rings’  show what happened with the reefs over the last 300 to 400 years.
